Two Very Special Guests

At the 9th grade concert last week we found Ms K's grandparents in the audience. The Blue Laker Band played a piece by Frank Bencriscutto who we found out was a band mate of Ms K's grandmother at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Ask Ms K about this connection, it is a great story.

Band Toons

Yes, a little play on words if you will...
the band played a tune about 'toons.

The title of this piece is simply "Cartoon" and from these clips, you will see why. The many sound effects and melodic moments conjure up great imagery from the cartoons of yesteryear.
Think of "Tom and Jerry" and other classics as you hear the dramatic chase moments and the elements of surprise come through in these snippets from the Wind Ensemble on February 2nd...

WELL DONE!

aka Batman

The Wind Ensemble tackled

Suite from the Dark Knight.
